Today, I feel like I’m standing in the middle of a storm. You know those days when everything feels like too much,
when even the smallest tasks feel insurmountable? That’s where I am. But as I sit here, letting these thoughts spill
onto the page, I remind myself of a simple truth: there is always something—no matter how small—to be grateful for.

Be strong be brave be better
Right now, I’m holding on to this one powerful fact: I “choose” how I start my day. It might not be on a yacht or in
some fancy five-star hotel (and if you’ve got that life, good for you, but this isn’t about yachts). It’s about waking
up knowing I am in charge of my day. Even on the days when everything feels like a mess, I still get to decide the
first step forward.
Sure, my wrist hurts today because I carried what felt like a thousand trays and plates at work. But that ache? It’s
a good sign. It means we were busy, thriving, making things happen. The pain sucks, but I’ll take it as a badge of
honor over sitting around with nothing to do.
And when the overwhelm sets in, I have to stop and remind myself of the little victories. The things that so easily
go unnoticed but mean the world:
- Our new pups. We recently adopted two beautiful little dogs, and they’ve already brought so much joy and energy
into our lives. They’re chaotic and mischievous, but their love is unconditional.
- My partner. She’s my rock. On the tough days, she’s the one who keeps me grounded, and I couldn’t be more
grateful to have her by my side.
- Gas in my truck. This morning, my truck wasn’t running on fumes. That alone is a win, and I’ll take it.
Because honestly? It could be so much worse.
Let’s take a moment to think about what isn’t happening today:
- I’m not wondering where my next meal is coming from.
- I’m not sleeping in the cold, without a roof over my head.
- I’m not battling an illness that takes away my strength to keep going.
There are people out there facing struggles I can’t even begin to imagine. That doesn’t invalidate how I’m feeling—our
pain is always real—but it does put things into perspective. Someone out there is wishing for the life I have, even on
my hardest days.
Here’s what I’ve learned: trying to please everyone is a fool’s game. It’s impossible. You will never make everyone
happy, so stop sacrificing your peace for the approval of others.
Instead, let’s focus on the small things that make today better and set us up for a better tomorrow:
1. Take a shower. It’s not just about hygiene—it’s about rinsing off the weight of the day, resetting your mind,
and feeling refreshed.
2. Eat a good meal. Not just something to fill the void, but real fuel for your body and mind.
3. Do the dishes and fold the laundry. I know, it’s not glamorous. But waking up to a clean sink and folded
clothes? That’s a gift to your future self. Trust me, the clutter will mess with your head if you let it pile up.
Tomorrow is a fresh start. You’ll wake up, and the world will still be turning. You’ll still be in control of how you
approach the day. And while the overwhelm may not disappear overnight, you’ll be better equipped to handle it.
Let yourself feel the hard stuff today, but don’t get lost in it. Gratitude is your anchor, no matter how small the
things you’re thankful for. Hold on to those things, because even on your worst days, they’ll remind you that there’s
light ahead.
And remember this: there’s always someone who has it worse. That’s not to diminish what you’re feeling, but to remind
you that even when life feels impossible, you’ve got something worth holding on to.
The storm will pass. And when it does, you’ll still be standing.

"Gratitude turns what we have into enough and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity… it makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." – Melody Beattie
We've got this, much love ❤️
