You ever have one of those absolute “screw it” moments?

You know the ones. Tiny decision. Barely noticeable. But inside, you know you're taking the easy road—the lazy one. The “I’ll let someone else deal with it” path that always leads to the same place: nowhere worth going.

I had one recently. Stupid small. So minor it probably wouldn't register for most people. But it hit me like a protein bar to the forehead.

Here's what happened.

I’d just finished a brutal post-vacation workout—sweaty, sore, lungs doing their best impression of a busted accordion. I'd earned that exhaustion. The kind where you're borderline spiritual just from surviving. As I sat down to take my shoes off, I noticed a tiny clear sticker inside—probably something like “Size 9, Short King Edition.” I peeled it off and it fluttered to the floor.

And in that moment?
I thought, “Screw it.”

That’s it. That was the instinct. The quiet whisper of laziness. “It’s just a little sticker. Someone will get it.”

But then came the voice inside my head. That slightly unhinged version of me that shouts common sense when it counts.

“Pick it up, you mutant. Don’t make someone else clean up after you. Don’t be that guy.”

That guy who shrugs it off. That guy who leaves messes—literal or metaphorical—for others to handle. That guy who lets life pass while waiting for someone else to put it all together.

So what did I do?

I reached down, picked it up, folded it like it owed me rent, and threw it out properly. Because accountability doesn’t always show up like a big life decision. Sometimes it’s just a sticker on the floor. Sometimes it’s owning the moment you almost let slide.

Why this matters

We like to think it’s the big things that define us—our careers, relationships, major wins. But the truth is, it’s the tiny moments. The ones no one sees. The ones you could easily let slide without consequence.

It’s doing the right thing when no one’s watching. That’s the glue holding this whole circus together.

And that same rule applies to everything in life:

  • Want to grow your business? Pick up the tiny task you’ve been avoiding.

  • Want to get fit? Start with one small choice at a time.

  • Want a better relationship with yourself? Stop outsourcing your mess—mentally, emotionally, or physically.

Because it’s not someone else’s job to fix your life. It’s not someone else’s job to clean your house, your attitude, or your dreams. It’s yours. Always has been.

You can’t outsource personal responsibility.

So stop waiting for the perfect time. Or the right coach. Or the ideal Monday to start your new life. That moment you’re looking for? It’s already here. It’s in the small choice you make today, right now, when no one’s watching.

Whether it’s throwing away a sticker or following through on a promise to yourself, it counts.

It all adds up.

So here’s your challenge:

Think of one thing—just one—that you should’ve done today but didn’t. A dish you left in the sink. A text you didn’t send. That idea you keep saying you’ll start “someday.”

Then do it.

And if you're bold enough, share it. Post it. Tag me. I want to hear about the ridiculous, hilarious, ordinary things you’re finally owning. Let’s normalize doing the damn thing—even when it’s small. Especially when it’s small.

Because if we can master the tiny moments, we can handle the big ones.

This is Todd—soon to be Mr. Mikutowicz—reminding you:

Be better than the sticker.
Pick it up.
Clean up your mess.
And make this life yours, one small win at a time.

Ever left a tiny mess behind and thought, “Screw it, someone else will get it”?
Yeah, me too.
But today I didn’t—and it reminded me that small wins build big lives.
Tag me in something ridiculous you should’ve done today but didn’t.
Let’s start a movement around doing the little things that make a huge difference.
