So… I had this moment the other day—mid-bite of a questionable protein bar, covered in mystery seeds, standing barefoot in my kitchen—when I said out loud, “I’m a little crazy… but the world’s insane.” Then I looked around like, Did I just say that? Out loud? To my blender?
Turns out, it’s kinda true. This week I sat down with my buddy Ronnie Hughes—black belt in Krav Maga and certified master of mental clarity—and we dove into everything from brain fog to the beauty of knowing when to tap out. We even touched on the underrated life skill of thinking for yourself—which, in today’s chaos, is more valuable than ever (right up there with parallel parking and not texting your ex).

Mental Broadband & Knowing What You Know
Ronnie hit me with this brilliant concept: mental broadband. It’s your brain’s ability to process life without completely overheating like your grandma’s toaster oven. And when too much is running—old memories, social expectations, endless “what ifs”—you start losing connection.
But here’s the deal: most of us already know what’s up. We know what’s good for us, we know when someone’s energy is off, we even know when we’re lying to ourselves about that “just one drink.” The issue isn’t lack of knowledge—it’s that we’re not listening to ourselves over all the outside noise.
So when your internal WiFi starts buffering, maybe it’s time to close some mental tabs.
The Thinking-for-Yourself Part (AKA, Brain Freedom)
Thinking for yourself these days is like trying to hear your own thoughts at a rave—everyone’s screaming, lights are flashing, and somewhere in the corner, your inner voice is waving politely like, “Hey… maybe take a breath?”
That’s why slowing down matters. That’s why stillness matters. Ronnie reminded me that tapping out doesn’t mean giving up. It means creating space—enough space to ask: Is this even my belief? Or did I absorb this from some loud guy with a TikTok and a protein sponsorship?
Or, as I proudly declared mid-blender conversation:
“I’m a little crazy… but the world’s insane.”
Honestly? Might be the most grounded I’ve ever been.
If you’re vibing with that mood, this track by Morgan Wallen hits hard in all the right places:
What Helped Me This Week (Take What You Need):
2 minutes of deep breathing. Eyes closed. No phone. Just your thoughts… hopefully nice ones.
Ask yourself: “What do I already know that I’ve been ignoring?”
Tap out of things that drain your soul—especially pointless arguments and comparison games.
So if you’re feeling a little off this week, remember:
You’re not broken.
You’re just trying to navigate a world that’s spinning like a smoothie blender with no lid.
Be weird. Be still. Be just crazy enough to stay human.
Because in a world this insane… crazy might be the sanest option.
Catch you next week,
Keep rolling, keep laughing, and if all else fails—take a nap.
Much Love
Todd
