“Hope: The Most Underrated Superpower You Already Have”
(And How to Use It Without Just Sitting on Your Couch Dreaming About Abs)
Have you ever hoped for abs while simultaneously inhaling a croissant stuffed with chocolate and regret? Yeah, me too.
Hope is a weird thing. It’s like the avocado of emotions—soft, squishy, good for your insides, but it goes bad if you leave it sitting around too long.
Let’s Talk Hope.
Hope that tomorrow’s better.
Hope that money shows up (preferably in a suitcase with no strings attached).
Hope that you’ll meet someone who doesn’t ghost you after three good dates and one weird dream about your ex.
Hope that the job, the body, the peace, the strength, the you you know you’re meant to be—shows up.
But then there’s the other side of the coin.
Some people are just hoping they’ll eat today.
Or that a loved one makes it through the night.
Or that their mind stays just steady enough to survive another day.
And if that doesn’t stop you in your tracks for a second—go outside barefoot and touch some grass. Perspective is a hell of a recalibrator.
Here’s the Thing About Hope: It’s Not a Plan.
You can hope all day long.
Hope is the spark plug. But the car? That’s you. You’re the one who’s gotta hit the gas.
You can’t hope yourself into shape.
You can’t hope your bank account full.
You can’t hope your trauma into healing.
You can’t hope a six-pack while double-fisting piña coladas on a Thursday (trust me, I tried).
Hope without effort is like lighting a match and expecting it to heat a jacuzzi.
So, What Do We Do With This Hope Thing?
Keep It Alive. Like a Tamagotchi. Feed it. Check on it. Don’t let it die just because life got messy.
Move With It. Let hope be your compass, not your hammock.
Put It In the Right Place. Stop hoping for things you’re not willing to work for. But absolutely keep hoping for things that still feel far away. You’re just not there yet.
Hope is for Everyone.
Whether you’re hoping to run a marathon or just hoping to get out of bed today without crying, it all matters. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
There is no such thing as too small a hope.
There is no such thing as too late a start.
And there is no such thing as hopeless—unless we choose to give up.
So don’t.
This Week’s Challenge:
Dust off your hope.
Name one thing—big or small—you’re hoping for.
Then do one small thing this week to move toward it.
Hope isn’t the finish line. It’s the starting whistle.
Now run.
PS: Remember This
Even when things feel impossible, you’re not.
Keep going. You’ve survived 100% of your bad days so far. That’s a flawless record.
You’re basically the Michael Jordan of resilience.
CTA:
Forward this to someone who needs a little hope today.
Or better yet—text them. Call them. Tell them you're rooting for them.
Hope shared is hope doubled.
Much Love Todd
